Ashcroft and Gonzales

Jessica Gavora, wife of Jonah Goldberg and one-time speechwriter to both Ashcroft and Gonzales, apparently has a saying: "The one thing you always knew about John Ashcroft was that he's not for sale."

I don't think I need to entirely unpack that for anybody reading it here. It should suffice to say that that sounds a lot like damning Gonzales by faint praise for Ashcroft.
