Hillary Clinton has come out with another 10-point list! This time, though, it's not about ethics or any other policy area. It's a list of potential campaign theme songs.

Now, if I were a Clinton adviser, I'd parse this a million different ways. First, I wouldn't allow the winning song to be decided by the public. Then, I'd point out to Hillary that, to attract hip young people, she should select an artist with some degree of pop credibility, but one who's not too obscure or too hip--no need to alienate the older voters who no doubt constitute the bulk of her voting base. Ideally, this would leave at least one female artist in the running, but sadly, in this case, it does not. (I'd almost put KT Tunstall on the list, but she's an unfortunate combination of a bit obscure and not American.)

This would leave us with "Beautiful Day" (U2), "Get Ready" (The Temptations), "Are You Gonna Go My Way" (Lenny Kravitz) (ha!), and "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" (The Police).

Once again, this is an easy choice. U2, and The Police--in addition to hovering very close to lame--are not American. And there's no need to give Republicans an opening for even minor cheap shots. Also, The Temptations represent one of the finest moments in American musical history, they demonstrate, as black men, the Democratic Party's superior inclusiveness, and they have cross-age, cross-race, cross-gender, and cross-income appeal.

That's what I would tell Hillary if I was her adviser. But I'm not. So I'm gonna go ahead and vote for Celine Dion.

The republicans should also sponser a contest for choosing Hillary's theme.
The choices might include:

You Ain't Nothin' but a Hound Dog;

Day Tripper;

Checking to See What Conditin My Condition Is In;

something by k.d. lang;

Jewish Princess;

Theme song to Green Acres;

Thigh Master commercial

etc

I'm not sure which theme song Ms. Clinton should select, but I agree with Brian that it shouldn't be chosen by the public. It should be chosen over drinks with Phil Spector.
