Pelosi conference call

So from what I gathered in my brief moments on a conference call with Nancy Pelosi today is that Democrats have no plans yet to hold anybody in the administration in contempt of Congress. The thinking is that they have little chance in court, and need to establish a pattern (there's no pattern?) before doing anything, so that they can at least highlight to voters the anticonstitutional nature of the Republican party. This seems like a mistake to me. Go to the courts. Lose. Show the American people how deeply stacked the decks really are.

There is another alternative: inherent contempt of congress, which is in the rules already. (Really!)

No courts involved, no justice dept. involved.

Pass that sucker, and send the House or Senate (or both) Sergeant at Arms (with the Capitol police behind them) to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave to apprend the contempters.

Make the Bushies stay within the gates, and sleep on cots. Show them on TV refusing to allow the Sgt. of Arms in the gates.

Then, shut off the water and electricity and plug up the sewage exits. Refuse delivery of food. Use some 'flash-bangs' and tear gas on any who attempt to escape. Take GOP hostages if any are available. Behead some of the hostages and put their heads on the spikes of WH fences. Arm the police with rubber bullets. Bring out the water cannons for any wingnuts that appear to support the lawbreakers. Shut off TV feeds out the WH by snipping the cables or jamming transmissions. Start some burning pyres and build a scaffold. Borrow the guillotine from a french museum and put it in the cleared, secure area in front of the WH on PA avenue. Equip DC garbage trucks with gate crashing blades and surround the WH premises. Detain any captured resisters as enemy combatants, and lock them in the Capitol basement.

hummm. what else? How about some ritual castrations, on live TV - even better if Paris Hilton does the job with mommy's bread knife. Or, some non-torture torture with some broom handles for any caught escaping.

Oh, I forgot a big one: call on the American people to surround the WH grounds in the 100's of thousands, round the clock, to prevent the Pres. from calling in the troops. Dare him to attack lawfully protesting citizens. Remind him that asymetrical warfare has shown its efficacy.
