Bill Kristol, we forgive you

Bill Kristol, the most dangerous pundit in America, has a brief word of contrition:

We at THE WEEKLY STANDARD are well aware that editors make mistakes. We have made our share.

Good deal! All is forgiven! Bygones!

This sort of pathetic bit of fraudulent self-reflection appears in an article dedicated to advancing the notion that liberal media types tell lies as part of their vast conspiracy to not support the troops. It's sort of impressive, really, to see Bill Kristol lash out at TNR for committing what appears to be a non-sin just a few years after his magazine masked Dick Cheney's confabulated Iraq intel as journalism and then said nothing when the vice-president went on television and pointed to their work on WMD as evidence of Iraq's stockpiles of WMD. Does that count as one of the mistakes they at THE WEEKLY STANDARD have made? Or do they consider that all in a days work?

Who will prove to be the better Goebels? Tony Snow or Bill Kristol? Looks like a horse race to me.
