Do nothing Congress

Matt flagged a McClatchy article that I'll link to also it because it's precisely the sort of information people need (but aren't given) when they read news accounts with headlines like "Congress fails to pass blah blah blah," or "Democrats fail to pass XYZ." It's a very different sort of ineffective Congress than the 109th, which was marked with reckless laziness and a laughable lack of oversight. In a weird way, though, this pattern (153 projected filibusters!!!) is a twisted admission by Republicans that they ran a uniquely deplorable Congress the last two years. If their basic tactic is to stomp out any possible Democratic successes in order to create the illusion of an equivalence between the parties, well then it's not exactly like they're trying to fight the impression that they were truly, truly awful.
