Last minute announcement

Barring any calamities, I'll be on the radio at 1:30 eastern time to discuss this article. Tune in if you can. I'll post the podcast when it becomes available.

Update: It's beginning to appear as if some sort of calamity has happened.

Update II: Yes, it's official. Some sort of calamity has happened. I was not, in fact, on the radio. That despite the billing. You'll just have to trust that I have plenty of interesting things to say about the plight of workers in New Orleans.

Calamities happen. Just don't call FEMA. I noticed that at the time scheduled for the broadcast the WMUR site said their streams were not available.

Your Katina worker article was quite good, but its hard to get media to focus on that issue anymore. This situation (delay hides outrages from view) seems to ratify the Rovian delay/secrecy approach to problem solving: don't solve the problem, act busy but do nothing, and stop talking about it.
