Probably because Drudge linked to Klein's little blurb and the conservatives followed like the little lemmings they are.
Yes. That's exactly what happened.
The GOP is just re-warming up their fear-based 'Harry and Louise" ads from 1993/4, but Hillary covered most or all of the previous objections and so they are searching for an elusive vein of fear-ore hidden somewhere in HC's new plan.
I suspect the 'fooled you once' GOP act has the potential to produce the opposite effect on the fooled you twice round.
