Here, in the last line of a Washington Post roundup of the fake FEMA press conference, is the real story:

[FEMA's disgraced former director of external affairs John] Philbin's last scheduled day at FEMA was Thursday. He has been named as the new head of public affairs at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, ODNI spokeswoman Vanee Vines said.

Update: As most of you probably know, ODNI fired John Philbin already. I give most of the credit to this blog.

WaPo: "It was absolutely a bad decision. I regret it happened. Certainly . . . I should have stopped it," said John P. "Pat" Philbin, FEMA's director of external affairs. "I hope readers understand we're working very hard to establish credibility and integrity, and I would hope this does not undermine it."

"I should have stopped it". How about "I shouldn't have started it"?

Yet another immaculate conception from BushCo. Nobody made it happen, it just happened.
