Banal observation of the day II

I think D.C. metro buses that are "NOT IN SERVICE" should be forbidden from driving along regular bus routes, as they tend to unnecessarily inflate my hopes when I'm late and waiting/staring impatiently up the street, and that annoys me deeply.

One cure for this: electronic signs at bus stops that indicate the minutes till the next bus. The out-of-service buses would not show as 'coming'. In Portland, you can check the web for the next bus arrival on your route.

Harkening back to the discussion of electric cars recapturing kinetic energy by generating electricity instead of wasting energy by heat loss through braking, here's a video from mahalo.com showing a road test of the all-electric Tesla roadster. Way kool. 0-60 in 4 seconds. A taste of the future with no-CO2 cars? [hat tip: Big Picture blog - a macro picute blog on capital markets.]
