More beating women
Obviously, as Democrats, I'm sure John Edwards and Barack Obama both flirted with the idea of cowering in terror ratcheting down the attacks on HIllary when faced with backlash. But I, at least, think it's smart that they have both resisted that temptation.

Holy crap. You wanted ratcheting? Those are ratchets. That Edwards ad is pretty good. He's not even using separate appearances. It's the same debate. And Obama's use of the phrase "picking on me" is a punch you can't block.
Yeah, any candidate should be willing to defend their position on the issues - not the gender, race, etc. of the candidate or their opponent.
But I'd sure like this better if the Dem. candidates were attacking Bush/Cheneyism or GOPism instead of each other. (Wistful dream....)
