Rove at Newsweek.

It turns out the mystery man set to join Markos Moulitsas in the pages of Newsweek is Karl Rove. Recall that Newsweek is owned by the Washington Post Company, which also pays Michael Gerson to opine once or twice a week in its flagship daily. Steve Benen writes "I don’t think this is an unreasonable move on Newsweek’s part." And I, predictably, believe almost exactly the opposite. My point is not that mainstream publications--which have much worse problems--should be stripped of their conservative voices. There are, after all, people out there who hope to convince others that the GOP is the better of the two parties in the countries. It may seem crazy, but they should have a say-so. My point is that Karl Rove is a liar, probably a criminal, and has a well known tendency to misinform people.

This has not been a normal presidency. And The Post company ought to be able to find people to shill for Republicans who aren't actual architects of America's current political nightmare.
