Christmas in Fallujah

If you're a movie-goer anywhere in America, you've probably seen this music video about a half-dozen times by now:

Reviews are in and... it's extremely bad. Fortunately for us America haters, Billy Joel--the King of Lame--has come through with an antidote. The music's equally terrible (possibly worse?) but the message is deeply anti-war. Without further ado, I present you with "Christmas in Fallujah":

Meanwhile, I hope everybody's enjoying their holiday.... I'll be right here!

I hope the captions are because it's being closed captioned for the hearing impaired, or something like that. The dude was enunciating so forcefully that even a chronic lyric mishearer like myself could hear everything with painful clarity.

I went to two movies, one Monday and one on Christmas....and that song/video they show is just awful. I cant get it out of my head. 3 Doors Down, let me put you on notice, I will never willfully listen to your music again, not that I ever did in the first place.

It's time for an anti war-music revolt!

The realization that that Nat'l Guard propaganda video would play through the song's entirety was quite possibly the single worst feeling of dread for the year. That vid is comparable to what Eastern Bloc Commie Countries experienced on a regular basis, according to reliable sources (my old lady, who knows about these things). Makes one shudder and reminds one yet again that Orwell was a piker.
