Surprise, surprise! Since I'm just an amateur pundit, I don't yet have the necessary credentials to boldly assert totally arbitrary and incorrect analysis on this blog. So clearly this helps everyone, and it helps no one. It proves America is ready for change, and that America is ready for more of the same. Without a doubt, we know that Fred Thompson was less popular than some Republicans, but more popular than others, and that however you slice it, he is no longer a candidate. Also, no matter what happens next, this is good news for John McCain. Everything's good news for John McCain. John McCain allegedly killed my cat and that was good news for John McCain.

amateur pundit? Who could have ever guessed that...heheheh. I didn't realize that there was a licensing procedure for pundits, I guess. I'd take your opinions over the track-record opinions of Bill Kristol anytime.
Meanwhile...Since everything's good for McCain, according to the professional licensed pundits, how will the new 'here's joooooohhhhny' gain the support of Huck's folks (and those of similar ilk who supported Grandpa), not just for the primary, but for the election if Johnny Bomb is the GOP candidate (or is that candidiasis?)
Let's speculate (instead of punditing): Half of the evangelicals refuse the kool aid needed to support McCain and sit on their hands/thumbs. How does the GOP avoid a Goldwaterian debacle in Nov? Will a new Whig party emerge to assume the reigns (diliberate pun after-warning) after the carnage is removed?
Can I be an amateur pundit too. Sounds like fun and lo-cal too.
