I think Mark Penn's innumeracy and tendency to prevaricate are fairly well known to the political class at this point, so I suppose I don't need to belabor the point. But when one reads that he's still asking, "Could we possibly have a nominee who hasn't won any of the significant states -- outside of Illinois? That raises some serious questions about Sen. Obama,” one has to wonder whether that's because he's ignoring the margins among independents in "significant states" or because he genuinely can't understand their significance.
