The DNC had the good sense to strip him of his superdelegate status. If he's not stripped of his committee seniority on day one of the next Congress, it will be a represent failure of leadership.

Well, it depends, I guess. I struggle with this almost daily. Being in the majority in the Senate has some major advantages, but only with a working majority of reliable votes on key matters. Without that, it almost doesn't matter if the renegade Bush dogs are running wild in the Dem. caucas giving Bush actual control over Congress. With a new Dem. President, the GOP obstructionism won't be as effective even with a narrow Senate majority for the Dems.
But I fully share your feeling that punishment for bad acts is always a good thing in politics. Voting him out of the majority caucas would be even sweeter than taking away his seniority, since Joe L is just a spy in the caucas now.

By the next congress he hopefully won't be needed for the Dems to have a majority.
Exactly, crack.
