Obama v. Hillary in Washington state

My most reliable source in the Puget Sound area (hey sis!) says Hillary Clinton spoke yesterday at a well attended event on the waterfront in Seattle. The event MSNBC broadcasted today was in front of what seemed like a small group of nurses. Today, a friend left the University of Washington at 11 am to see Obama at a 1 pm event at Key Arena, and reports that, the city's buses are so packed with people headed there that they haven't been able to make any stops along the way. No word yet on whether MSNBC will be returning the favor and carrying the event live.

Update: 5000 people went to see Hillary speak yesterday. The Key Arena apparently reached its 20,000 person capacity minutes after the doors opened and thousands more had to be turned away.

Update II: My last Obama-boosting note of the day. Skepticism notwithstanding, SurveyUSA gives Obama a 20-point lead in Virginia. And the House's chief appropriator, David Obey of Wisconsin has just given him the nod. Wisconsin's primary is February 19.

Ok... MSNBC did carry a bit of his event, and I'm gonna shut up now, because I'm beginning to feel a little bit like this guy.

They set up speakers outside Key arena for the overflow crowd. I was planning on going, but saw the madhouse this weekend and said, "meh".

It's on NWCN in live wall to wall coverage right now. Is sis taping channel 2 for you?

Barack makes women swoon. Literally. Just now, he had them bring a chair over for a fainting woman in the front row.

One interesting thing was that Chris Gregoire introduced him. Since Clinton had both Murray and Cantwell, and Gregoire is solid DLC, I thought it might be a lonely stage. Smith and McDermott were both there too.
