BBC puts Scalia on the record:
Justice Scalia says that it is far from clear that torture is unconstitutional and says that it may be legal to "smack [a suspect] in the face" if the suspect is concealing information which could endanger the public.
Over here--at what you might call the official website of the U.S. Constitution--it quotes the eighth amendment thusly: "excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." So as long as the torture being inflicted is of a species of torture that's neither cruel nor unusual, it is a perfectly acceptable part of the interrogation process.
