Plans

It's a rudimentary detail, but worth repeating. The Bush/Paulson "plan" is just that. A plan. By no means will it be the bill Congress passes. Chris Dodd, who chairs the Senate Banking committee, has a big say in the matter, and the outline of his "plan" looks quite a bit better. Barney Frank--Dodd's counterpart in the House--is talking a pretty decent game, and presumably he'll come up with a "plan" of his own, or endorse the Dodd plan. Hopefully this will be done in co-ordination with other congressional leadership and, of course, the party's leader, Barack Hussein Obama.

As the legislative engine chugs forward, we'll approach a finalized version and that's when Obama and McCain will hit the gas in their game of chicken over how to vote on the package.
