More than snark

I didn't take any notes on this, but I have noticed that, in the course of reporting on the automaker bailout hearings, various cable news show hosts have nodded approvingly at exchanges like this.

One host, I noticed, gleefully congratulated the "snark." And who doesn't like a little bit of snark!?

But this isn't just an irrelevant gotcha moment.There is something genuinely rotten about the executive culture in corporate America, and this is a real symptom of it. It makes perfect sense to doubt that people like this will be more careful with taxpayer bailout dollars than they have been with shareholder dollars in the recent past.
